Wynnewood

Considered a suburban unincorporated area just west of Philadelphia, Wynnewood is a lovely community that straddles Lower Merion Township and Haverford Township. Named in 1691 after Dr. Thomas Wynne (William Penn’s physician), this community is one of many neighborhoods on the historic Pennsylvania Main Line. It also happens to be home to a number of well-known institutions, including Lankenau Hospital, St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Palmer Theological Seminary, and Friends' Central School.

This Pennsylvania community really does tout itself as an excellent place to live. In addition to beautiful homes and a convenient location along PA’s Main Line, this community is also home to a number of shopping plazas. The largest shopping center is the Wynnewood Shopping Center, which includes such shopping staples as Old Navy, Bed Bath and Beyond, Mad Mex and Giant. Other shopping venues in the area include Wynnewood Square and The Whole FoodsShopping Center. Wynnewood, which is primarily a residential community, is also historically known for its car dealerships, which line Lancaster Avenue from South Wynnewood to Argyle Road. Other amenities in and around the community include sports venues and public parks.
