Newtown Square

Located in Delaware County, Newtown Township is a quaint community of just 12,000 residents as of the 2010 Census. This community, which was originally part of Chester County, was originally named “Newtown Square,” although that name has changed overtime. It remained mostly a farming community throughout the 18th century, which is when it began to diversify to also include blacksmithing, wheelwrighting and more. Then during the 19th century, a number of mills started being developed in the area, further diversifying the community. Today, this 10.11-square-mile community is mostly a suburban community, with some old stone homes and other historic structures still standing to remind residents of its long history. The township is also home to the Project Management Institute (PMI), a Lyondell Chemical Company Technology Center, and Apple Vacations. It’s also home to the headquarters for SAP America, a subsidiary of SAP SE.
